What is deep-tissue light therapy?
Also referred to as photo-therapy, photon therapy, and low-level light therapy, deep-tissue light therapy is based upon the proven science and therapeutic application of photo-biostimulation using light to stimulate natural biological processes in the areas where it is applied.
Light, at an optimum power level, wavelength and dosage duration, can promote healing by increasing circulation and regeneration of normal tissue.
What conditions does LumiWave™ treat?
LumiWave is FDA-cleared to relieve and reduce minor pain or discomfort associated with muscles (including back pain caused by muscle tension), joints, arthritis, sprains and strains.
Researchers are currently investigating additional light-therapy applications for spinal cord injuries, Parkinson's disease, stroke, brain tumors and tissue, muscle and organ regeneration, wound treatment, ophthalmic applications and diabetic neuropathy.
How does LumiWave™ work?
LumiWave's patented technology uses Light Emitting Diodes (LEDs) to deliver therapeutic levels of infrared light directly through the skin and into the affected area to temporarily reduce pain and stiffness.
LumiWave™'s deep-tissue therapy also promotes healing by increasing circulation and regeneration of normal tissue.
Why does LumiWave™ use LEDs instead of laser?
For a couple of reasons. First, clinical studies conducted for NASA and the Russian Academy of Science have shown that the stimulating effect of photon penetration and cell absorption is the critical component to biological results not the source of light (e.g., laser or LEDs).
Second, LED light is safer, less expensive and equally as effective as the highly complex laser technology used in clinical settings.
Finally, by using LEDs instead of laser, LumiWave has been developed specifically for the consumer market. In addition to being FDA-cleared for consumer use in the home, LumiWave does not require the use of protective eyewear (as the use of laser would).
Is LumiWave™ safe?
Absolutely. LumiWave has received FDA clearance for consumer use. Used as directed, LumiWave safely and effectively reduces pain and stiffness in muscles and joints.
Who can use LumiWave™?

When can't LumiWave™ be used?
LumiWave is not recommended in areas of bleeding or blood clots. Do not use on the eyes, over the area of the fetus if you're pregnant, on the thyroid gland, or in the area of the heart if you have a heart condition. You should also avoid using LumiWave on any known malignancies.
