John Repine, MD - CEO Webb Waring Institute
Dr. Repine is President and Director, Webb-Waring Institute for Cancer, Aging, and Antioxidant Research. He serves as Professor of Medicine, and Associate Dean at the School of Medicine, University of Colorado Health Sciences Center. He is a respected authority in the study of vascular diseases and the author of more than 300 research articles. Dr. Repine is also a reviewer and on the editorial boards of prominent professional journals. Working closely with industry, Dr. Repine serves on the scientific advisory boards of a number of biotechnology companies and is currently developing, testing and patenting promising products for the treatment and prevention of disease.
Dr. Repine earned his M.D. at the University of Minnesota where he won the Borden Prize for outstanding research. He completed advanced clinical training in internal medicine and a fellowship in pulmonary medicine before becoming a faculty member.
Dr. Repine is a member of many professional and honorary societies for medicine, chemistry and biology. He was elected to the American Society of Clinical Investigation, Association of American Physicians and is an elected counselor in the Oxygen Society. He is the recipient of an Established Investigator Award from the American Heart Association, Basil O'Conner Research Award from the March of Dimes, the Bonfils-Stanton Award for his Outstanding Contributions to Medicine and Science and the Alton Ochsner Award Relating Smoking and Health.
