Phillip A. Davidson, MD - Orthopedic Surgeon

Philip Davidson M.D. is the Chief Executive Officer of the Tampa Bay Specialty Surgery Center. He is a practicing Orthopaedic Surgeon, and consultant to the PGA and Major League Baseball Player's Association. He was nominated by the Governor to serve as an expert medical adviser for the State of Florida Workers' Compensation Board. Dr. Davidson is the Director of the Orthopaedic Institute of the Americas, the clinical and research teaching unit responsible for education of many visiting Orthopaedic surgeons each year. His area of specialized clinical interest includes injuries of the shoulder and disorders of the knee, particularly cartilage repair and reconstruction. Dr. Davidson is widely recognized for his expertise in cartilage restoration, including transplantation and biological restoration of cartilage injuries in the knee.

Dr. Davidson graduated with honors from Harvard University and earned a Medical Degree with honors in research from Cornell University Medical College. His Orthopaedic training was at the Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas. He went on to complete a Fellowship in Sports Medicine and Shoulder Surgery at the nationally renowned Kerlan-Jobe Orthopaedic Clinic in Los Angeles, California.

He is a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, the Arthroscopy Association of North America, the American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine, and multiple medical societies. He is Board Certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery.
